Weekend Wrapup: It's Vacation Time Edition!

A long, beautiful, relaxing weekend here at Ches Dickie was had, and all things were wonderful and fun! OK... maybe an exaggeration, but still I had an overall good weekend, and I'm on vacation from the day job all this week to boot! Here's a few things that kept my occupied this weekend:

Fallen Earth

Still in the trial right now, although that should be finishing up soon. I really do like this game and am terribly torn by it. It feels right, and the setting is fantastic. I did decide over the weekend to make my character more of a meleer than a pure crafter. All the point I've invested in Intelligence so far won't really set me too back at this early a stage, and I can still be a harvesting fool with all the points I'll have in Strength. Also, I learned that while I like the gun-slinging, first-person action, I am not good at it at all.

Lord of the Rings Online

I spent some time on my hunter exploring the North Downs and got him to Acquaintance with the Tailor's Guild, which is nice but not too useful right now. I'm still trying to reconnect with my old guild, maybe then I'll be able to get some groups together for the 10,000 group quests I have sitting in my log! I'm enjoying the game immensely, I just really wish I didn't still have issues with the game's technical performance. Much like last time I played, I get random character freezes... I'm researching a bit deeper now to see if I can understand why, but haven't come up with much yet.

Battleswarm

This was a new MMO FPS/RTS hybrid thing that officially launched this week, and based on the reccomendation of a blog I trust, I downloaded the game and gave it a shot. An hour later I uninstalled it. Truthfully, it's just not the type of game play I'm looking for right now, but I also can't stand ANY FPS that does not include staffing. Sorry, but that's a failed design decision there.

What Did You Play

So that was my game time, tell me about yours?
