Farewell From The Grand Canyon

My time in Fallen Earth is winding down, and I have to say that I've really enjoyed the title so far. Unfortunately, as I've stated already, I simply am forbidden from buying new games during the holiday season, so I can't justify dropping the $50 for it right now. However, this is the title that I'll be looking at once my 3-month subscription runs out with LOTRO.

In any case, there's a couple things I noticed in my last few days of play that I thought I'd share. First, while the Code of Conduct does still reference "lifestyle choice," they have also made this addition:

CoC

So taking part in anti-gay guilds, or any hate-purposed organization for that matter, is strictly prohibited, which is a nice touch. Hopefully, they'll revisit the earlier parts of the Code of Conduct soon and make a few adjustments in their wording there as well.

I met this gentleman in Mumsford while finding things to do for the people in town. I thought I snagged a shot of the quest text, but I apparently did not. What made him special? From the context of the quest, he's a gay NPC. His partner was killed by the Shiva virus (the virus that killed most of humanity), and he asked me to collect a few items from some ruffians because they stole them from him in a raid and that was all he had left to remember his partner by. I was very moved by the quest personally, although it amounted to just a "go fetch" quest, it still had an element of what I'm looking for in my MMOs.

Then there's this tranny mess. Listen, ummm... I don't know how to say this, but Mad Max stopped filming, like, 20 years ago... and Courtney Love is really pissed that you're cramping her style. So could you tone it down a notch? Maybe?

That's it for my Fallen Earth adventures for now. I would honestly recommend the title for anyone that's been searching for a new, deep MMO experience. There are plenty of people in game and it will likely only grow as time goes on. If you're tired of the sword and sorcery fair we've grown accustomed to in our little niche market, than this is the game for you.

That's the same situation I'm at with FE. Can't justify the 50 bucks right now. I think it's worth it, but 3 months of LotRO for 30 bucks was a far better deal.
