Funcom Really Is Full Of Ignorant Twits

For those who are into this sort of thing, you can now log into Age of Conan and get your bewbies made bigger. Oh, or you could make your biceps bigger (if you have a dude character)… because that's just plain equality right there!

I've said it before and I'll continue to say it: the addition of Breast Enlargement Potions in Age of Conan is the single worst screw-up I've seen in a game in a very, very long time. Outright sexism is plain sad, and the implication that one should be rewarded with the heavenly mana that is breast size is utterly ridiculous! Let's just go ahead and reinforce in the minds of men and women of the world that the only thing that makes a woman worthwhile is her cup size, why don't we?

Good god damn, I thought they'd be smart enough to take this out of the frackin' rewards system before it went live, but apparently Funcom is full of hormonally challenge luddites that can't be bothered with things like common sense and decency.

Oh I think you're wrong on two counts. Age of Conan is low fantasy. The IP is meant to have crass things like big boobs. Also I see nothing wrong with sex positive elements. The kind of feminism you seem to be drawing on is the anti-sex, humorless, Steinem-esque variety fashionable in the 70's and 80's.

But yeah it's tacky nonetheless. It'd be nice if they'd allow for male enhancements as well. I want to see a "package" slider at character creation, or different butt styles for me.

I'm not anti-sex at all. I enjoyed the crassness of the game while I was playing it, and even praised the game for it's inclusion of truly mature themes as well we it's use of vulgarity.

I draw the line whenbeing a faithful player is rewarded with bigger boobs. This kind of reward reinforces the concept that big breasts should be a reward and that larger breasts should be valued above anything else for a woman.

Having a "package slider" in game would do much the same thing for men, making it obvious that the developers on respect men with large penises. Although that wod make things a bit more equitable in AOC, it wouldn't really fix the problem.

I understand your perspective, and I think in many cases you would be right, but I think in this instance the "bigger bewbies as reward" is just sexism, overt and undisguised.

Have you seen the Conan movies? Know the lore? Only in the US, Vatican City or any Muslim country will you find people as uptight as you. Sex, boobs and nudity aren't as taboo everywhere else in the world. Loosen up.

I love boobies! But in a game, it just screams immaturity. AoC is never a game I will play because it caters to idiots that are fasinated by pixel jugs. A mature rating give them the right to do what they want, but taking it too far alianates a huge playerbase. I hope they don't ruin The Secret World like they did AoC. If I want to play with boobs I will touch my GFs not lick a monitor

Ah, "loosen up". That good old anti-feminism argument.

Before I got on, perhaps I better get some things out of the way, lest they be called into question. I am male, I am (as far as I know) heterosexual, I enjoy breasts as much as the next guy and even though I call myself a feminist I don't think porn is purely sexist. I am not anti-sex in any way or shape. Sex is good. More sex for the masses.

But sex is not the point here. The point is that the breast englargement potion is a reward. You've been good, you've got a female character, here - have bigger breasts. Bigger breasts are, by default, a good thing and women should be rewarded with them.

I don't think my girlfriend would appreciate it if I got her a breast enlargement for our anniversary. AoC might only be a game, but the reward is still the same in principle - you've been a good and loyal customer, here's your reward.

Conan is low-fantasy, yes. I really like the Conan-lore. It's dark, gritty, mature, has a lot of sex, the male are male and the women are (usually) scantily clad. It's a cool setting. Scantily clad women are nice to look at. But that does not mean that the developers should be cleared from all accusation of sexism by default.

I don't think the good people of Funcom are sexists, I've met many of them and they've all been good people. But I think they have stumbled over the fine line between humour and sexism here, probably without realising it themselves.

Yeah it's pretty sexism, but would be awesome if a guy accidently drank the boob potion his boobs would grow. LOL.

Screw the biceps, Now where the hell is my sword enlarging potion???

    HAHA
