I got a heartwarming greeting card from Dimpled Bear! Err... well, ok, maybe it wasn't exactly from WAR's lead Bear Creative Director, but still!

It seems to be a not-so-subtle hint at an upcoming Live Event based on Valentine's day. Is this a tie in to the release of the Slayer/Choppa classes? That would certainly go along with the blood spattered cards (which are super cool, by the way!). But what's going on with the "which elf" and the black kisses? Seems to indicate the Witch Elf class could play heavily into this event, and it definitely looks RVR based (Huzzah!).

I know others have gotten these, so let me know if you have. Werit and Keen have theirs up now, so check them out. I noticed Keen's is 9/13 (lucky number 13?) and has a "V" under the numbering. Mine is 4/13 with an "I."

UPDATE: Asuryan's Flames and Epic Slant have theirs up too... it's getting interestinger and interestinger.... Both of their's mention Squig Herder's and the Night of Murder. Also, Epic Slant's is 6/13 and "7"

Death Night

The official “holiday” for Dark Elves in general, but Witch Elves and Disciple of Khaine in particular. Straight from Wikipedia:

The holiest time of the year for Dark Elves is Death Night. During this night the Witch Elves rule the streets of the Dark Elf cities, capturing anyone they find (whether they are slaves or Dark Elves) and dragging them back to the temples as sacrifice to Khaine. The Witch Elves will even go so far as to break into houses, which has led to Dark Elf families barricading windows and doors during this night. On Death Night, the Witch Elves will also steal away a number of children. Girls captured like this will be trained to become Witch Elves. Boys are tossed in a cauldron of boiling blood. Those that survive are trained to be true adepts of Khaine: the feared assassins. As dawn breaks after Death Night, it is customary for those who lived through the night to make a sacrifice from their own household (usually a favoured slave or elderly relative) as a thanks to the Lord of Murder for sparing their family.

    Sounds like they are hinting at a live event for February akin to the one that unleashed the KOTBS and BG.

    The word puzzle is going to kill me though. A 13 letter phrase (unlikely it's a single word..I've already checked ;) )... hrm.

    This is worse than Wheel of Fortune, no spaces..just 13 letters which might not even be in the right order. Oh where's Vanna when you need her? She always knows where the letters go...

    if you hold shift down and press "7" its the & ... i think we are looking at two words, maybe even two names.

    that would fit with the clue "which elf"

    i still think the black heart clue refers to black heart coven. hellebrons personal guard stationed currently station at the cliffs of vual in dragon wake.

    I think that if they had two new capitals they would need two new races, and there not going to release that just yet. Though Im praying for vampire counts and wood elves. =)

    If you look at a pic of Epic Slants letter, it is clearly not a 7 its more likely a lower case T looks exactly like the t in the word hunt on the front of the letter.

    Hmmm, I wonder if the use of "like a squig herder" in some of the letters if only designed because it rhymes or is there some kind of deeper meaning?

    Yes I definitely agree, that is not a 7. First it looks exactly like the T's used on the front of the letter. And secondly, you have to turn it upside down to get a 7, why would it require you to turn upside down when none of the other cards did it that way. Since we know its a t now instead of a 7 the word idea is still the best clue we've got.

    wish I could take credit for it, but an Asuryan's Flames blogger I think solved the mystery of the cryptic #/13 and random letter. It should be read backwards.

    So _TNI_TN_VERA_ backwards: _AREV_NT_INT_ , which even without the other 3 blogs reporting becomes "WAR Event Hints".

    I think its read backswards & says... war event ninth.
    if the event starts on Feb 9th & lasts for 7 days wouldnt thats end Death Night?

    The 2 popular answers are that it spells (backwards in both cases)

    War Event Hints (13 letters and matches what we have so far)

    and

    War Event Ninth (same thing)

    I'm leaning towards a War event starting Monday the 9th of February going thru Friday the 13th (Night of Murder) and all tieing in with Valentines day the 14th explaining the LOVELY valentines you all got.

    Just my opinion.
